Out for a stroll

Out for a Morning stroll in Colchester Essex Castle Park on Mothering Sunday. Image captured with a Canon 5D Camera and a 17 to 40mm f4 lens. Daffodil blooms more sparsely spread than in previous years. The Daffodil is also known as the Lent lily.
Colchester claims to be Britain's oldest recorded town. The Romans called it Camulodunum. Boudicca (Boadicea) the Queen of the Iceni defeated the Romans here and burnt the temple dedicated to Claudius the Roman Emperor.
The Normans built this Castle on top of the remains of the temple between 1069 and 1076. The Castle contains an excellent award winning Museum which is great fun for all the family.

Poland Krakow Szopki Cribs

Cracovians making their way with entries to the Szopki crib making contest held annually on the first Thursday in December in Crakow Poland.
This event coinside's with the Christmas Market held in the Rynek Main Square. This years competition was crowded by sightseers and onlookers and was a free for all. The Polish Press and TV were out in full force and it was great fun competing for images. I will be back!
I have been quite a few times to Krakow it is a great city to visit for a weekend or even longer. I have excellent photo coverage of this destination. There are a host of bars, clubs and restaurants to visit around the Market Square. There is always some event, exhibition or concert happening on the Main Square. I always stay at the Globtroter where Jack and the gang really look after me. Of course I throughly recommend a stay there. May and June are great but book early because there is a shortage of accommodation through the summer months. Ryanair and Easyjet fly to Krakow from Stansted and Luton. Go Soon !
